Every year, fall brings such a beautiful backdrop for family photos — the golden leaves, cozy layers, and soft light make it one of my favorite times of year to capture families. As a Brunswick Ohio Family Photographer, this season is always special, but this year was a little different. With my girls’ busy sports and school schedules, I only took on two family sessions — and both were such a joy to photograph.
Each family brought their own story and energy to the session. We kept things simple and natural, focusing on connection and laughter rather than stiff poses. The warm colors of the trees and soft evening light made for the perfect setting. I love capturing those in-between moments — the giggles, the hugs, and the quiet smiles — that tell the story of a family just being together.
What made these sessions even more meaningful was that I’ve photographed both of these families for years. I first met them when their little ones were newborns, and it’s been such a gift to watch them grow up in front of my camera. From tiny swaddled babies to playful toddlers and now big kids full of personality — seeing their bond evolve over time is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. It’s a reminder of why I love capturing families through every season of life.
While I didn’t photograph as many families this fall, these two sessions reminded me how special it is to build long-term relationships with my clients. Each photo tells a piece of their story, and I feel honored to be part of it.
